House of Hamill
— —
Fiery fiddles. Lush harmonies. Stories that spark laughter and goosebumps alike.
House of Hamill wasn’t planned. It was sparked by missed flights and a few well-timed leaps of faith. When Rose Baldino (of Burning Bridget Cleary) found herself without bandmates at the 2014 Folk Alliance International Conference, she pulled Brian Buchanan (of Enter the Haggis) onstage. The chemistry was immediate. A later travel mishap brought bassist Caroline Browning into the mix—and the trio was complete.
Now a Pennsylvania-based festival favorite, and returning to Pine Grove Hall for their second show, House of Hamill delivers high-energy performances that fuse Celtic tradition with modern folk edge. They play blazing original jigs and reels, sing tight three-part harmonies, and have a stage presence that locks in a room from the first note.
Their original “Banks of the Brandywine” won the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, while their all-violin take on “Sweet Child O’ Mine” has racked up over 16 million views worldwide. Their latest album Wildfire hit #1 on the FAI Folk Charts, with “The Highwayman” topping songs and the band named #1 Overall Artist.
But the real story is live. They are tight, dynamic, and genuinely fun. This is the kind of show that reminds you why live music still matters.
If you like high-energy folk, Celtic drive, and a band that knows how to own a room, don’t miss it.
