A Juneteenth-Inspired Performance
Join us for a powerful Juneteenth-inspired evening of music, memory, and reflection with State College native Eric Ian Farmer, joined by bassist Gary Abdullah and pianist Stephen Mariner.
Eric brings his warm baritone voice, original songs, and soulful interpretations of classics to a performance rooted in remembrance, identity, and connection. His music draws from gospel, soul, folk, and the church traditions of his childhood, with influences ranging from Marvin Gaye to the singers who shaped him as he was growing up.
He is joined by two deeply respected musicians with long ties to Penn State, gospel, jazz, blues, and the State College music community. Gary Abdullah, longtime bassist for Penn State’s United Soul Ensemble and Urban Fusion, and Stephen Mariner, pianist, music director, and gospel-rooted performer, bring rich musical depth to the evening.
Together, they offer a moving performance honoring Juneteenth through song, story, and shared history.
Dinner and bar service available all evening.
