Shannon Bishop | Belly Dance

Shannon Bishop | Belly Dance

Sunday, June 26 @ 6:00PMSun, Jun 26 @ 6:00PM

Pine Grove Hall, 101 E Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills, PA

Shannon Bishop of Black Cat Belly Dance is the queen of Egyptian raqs sharqi (belly dance) in central Pennsylvania! Shannon has been teaching modern and classic styles of Egyptian music and dance for the past 17 years and has been performing professionally throughout the region for more than a decade.

She takes groups to Egypt once a year to connect with the history and culture of the dance, and to work with the country’s top dancers and musicians. Her performance at The Cataract Hotel in Cairo appeared on Egyptian television, and she has performed professionally on the Nile Memphis cruise ship.

Shannon’s shows are high-energy, family friendly and lots of fun, and feature music straight from Egypt…some of which has been written and produced just for her! In the true spirit of Egyptian dance, every dance is improvised in sync with the music, so no two shows are ever the same.

The Evergreens

The Evergreens

Wednesday, July 6 @ 7:00PMWed, Jul 6 @ 7:00PM

Pine Grove Hall, 101 E Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills

The Evergreens are an indie folk duo hailing from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. As full time musicians, they perform at a wide variety of special events and locations across Pennsylvania and surrounding states.

So why did they choose the name, 'The Evergreens?' "While we do love Christmas and the smell of cedar, we call ourselves The Evergreens because of the songs we play. We cover hits that have stood the test of time and have never 'gone out of season' - much like evergreen trees. We put our own indie/folk twist on hits ranging from the 1950's-1990's (with a few modern songs in the mix). This allows us to connect with all people in an audience - young and old. (Example: We’ve rocked the stage at both a 100-year-old and a 3-year-old’s birthday party,)" says the duo. https://www.theevergreensmusic.com/home

Crater and the Catalyst | Album Release

Crater and the Catalyst | Album Release

Friday, July 22 @ 9:30PMFri, Jul 22 @ 9:30PM

Pine Grove Hall, 101 E Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills, PA

Crater and the Catalyst was originally formed in State College, PA with members Tommy Gargiulo (guitar/bass/vocals) and Carter Freije (drums). Their first album, 2014’s The End Line, established the band as a force of musical experimentation; blending elements of jazz, punk, and progressive rock into a distinct style that was their own. The Forefront of Nothing In Particular, Crater and the Catalyst’s follow-up album, has been a work-in-progress since The End Line’s completion nearly a decade ago. In November 2019, Carter Freije tragically passed away, sending wide-spread ripples throughout the immense community of loved ones and musical companions he garnered during his life. For Crater and the Catalyst, Carter’s passing could very well have been the question mark at the end of a long paragraph. However, through the throes of COVID and the thousands of miles separating bandmates, Tommy rallied the ragtag group of friends around him to bring the long-awaited album to fruition. The Forefront of Nothing In Particular is not just an audial rollercoaster, navigating many twists and turns through various genres; it is a celebration of the friendship and unbreakable musical bond that started it all.

So sit back, stand up, dance your heart out, and save that movie-theater tear: you’re in for something! Welcome to The Forefront of Nothing in Particular…

Crater and the Catalyst is Tommy Gargiulo (guitar/vocals), accompanied by Huck Tritsch (drums), Ryan Zieminski (keyboards/synthesizer), John Ott (guitar), Jon Spearly and Gabe Corso (bass), Riley Seiders (trombone/euphonium), and other special guests.

PGH Writers' Round | Hosted by Larry Boggess

PGH Writers' Round | Hosted by Larry Boggess

Sunday, July 24 @ 6:00PMSun, Jul 24 @ 6:00PM

Pine Grove Hall, 101 E Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills

This month's Writers' Round is hosted by Larry Boggess. Larry will be joined by Kevin Briggs, Caryn Dixon and Jim Herbert. A bit about our songwriters...

Larry Boggess was in fourth grade when joined his first band and started writing songs. His musical projects span rock, blues, country, folk, Celtic, musical theater, and now the party band Crush. Larry's songs come from the heart, each a puzzle piece in his Big Picture.

Jim Herbert: "I've been inspired by folks like James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, CSNY and POCO. I began writing and performing music in my teens, and over my life it has helped me capture meaningful experiences, snapshots of my life and work through difficult times. My original music continues to have a classic singer songwriter style with contemporary references.”

Caryn Dixon performs her original songs along with her unique arrangements of covers, and also performs with My Hero Zero. Her love for music and the connections she feels with her fans, drives her career and desire to reach new audiences. Caryn has written with some of the top writers in the industry and you can find her original music placed in TV series on networks such as TLC, MTV and E. Her single, “Running For Gold” is a tribute to the hard work and dedication that it takes to chase and conquer a dream.

Kevin Briggs: Kevin plays the guitar and mandolin, and enjoys exploring lyrics in musical spaces. Although often tinged with permeations of the blues, his music is intended to reflect love, hope, and letting go.

What to expect... Our Writers' Rounds will showcase multiple writer/artists on stage at the same time, each playing one song going "AROUND" until 3, 4, or five "rounds" have been completed. They'll present new and sometimes not even fully completed songs in our exquisite listening room environment. It's an intimate evening that you won't want to miss.

Casual Fare menu and full bar service will be available all evening. Click GET TICKETS to reserve your table.
