They'll be playing two short sets, so don't be late...

Todd Harrison spent 20 years and 7 days drumming the US Jazz Ambassadors into shape, as a full time job. Got pulse? You’ll dance: https://open.spotify.com/track/2quZcV996iSud3WcSGbqYX?si=f0352bbe32d44c3b

Clay Wulbrecht’s caduceus keyboards command calumniation. Hear it to believe it.

Josh Davis plays bass, arrange songs, write lyrics, and directs musical traffic like there’s always tomorrow.

Meet the Author - Keith Nelson: Breakthroughs

Meet the Author - Keith Nelson: Breakthroughs

Sunday, February 5 @ 6:00PMSun, Feb 5 @ 6:00PM

Pine Grove Hall, 101 E Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills, PA

Join your fellow readers and aspiring writers at Pine Grove Hall's "Meet the Author" series and enjoy an intimate evening with local and regional authors who write about food, drink and the arts.

This month, we feature Penn State Emeritus Professor of Psychology Keith Nelson with his new book titled “Breakthroughs: Realizing Our Potentials Through Dynamic Tricky Mixes” which was just released in March, 2022.

“Breakthroughs” is about “learning a way of thinking and approaching things” based on dynamic tricky mixes, a term he coined, Nelson said. “It’s about innovation, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, creativity and really breaking through to new territory — not by doing the same old thing and not by assuming there’s one way if I can only figure it out,” Nelson said. “There are multiple ways… if you don’t have [a] mix at work, then you remix. If that doesn’t work, you remix.”

Doors open at 5pm and the event starts at 6pm. Our Casual Fare menu and full bar service available all evening. Event will take place upstairs. Room is not handicapped accessible.

This is a FREE event, but please click GET TICKETS to reserve a table.

Fillet De Soul: Celebrating the Unsung Heroes of Southern Soul Music

Fillet De Soul: Celebrating the Unsung Heroes of Southern Soul Music

Sunday, February 26 @ 6:00PMSun, Feb 26 @ 6:00PM

Pine Grove Hall, 101 E. Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills

The second in a series of four evenings of discussion and performance focusing on musicians from the 1960's and their moments of impact on American culture. Hosted by Jerry Zolten with very special guest Billy Price.

By the 1960s, the music called "soul" was a powerful current in American and world pop music. These days, the words "soul music" mostly bring to mind the catchy tunes, fancy coordinated outfits, and meticulously choreographed stage moves that are the legacy of Detroit and Motown - which is alright - but not nearly as well-known are the deep-down delineators, the artists who, rooted in black gospel, laid the foundation with pulsing heartbeat rhythms and voices with the ability to wring every drop of emotion out of the words. O.V. Wright. Otis Clay. Dyke and the Blazers. James Carr. Bobby Bland. Who better than soul master Billy Price to turn the lovelight on these artists in an evening of conversation, exploration, and revelation profusely illustrated with performance clips and a live song or two.

March Writers' Round Hosted by Anna Pearl Belinda

March Writers' Round Hosted by Anna Pearl Belinda

Sunday, March 12 @ 6:00PMSun, Mar 12 @ 6:00PM

Pine Grove Hall, 101 E. Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills

ANNA PEARL BELINDA is a local State College singer-songwriter, performing since she was 11 at events throughout PA such as the Arts Festival, Grange Fair and Happy Valley's Got Talent at The State Theatre. Predominantly playing the piano, you will often find melancholy tones throughout her songwriting. Additionally, she plays guitar and ukulele. Her inspirations draw from artists such as the Dave Matthews Band, Regina Spektor and Coldplay.

NICOLE GARGIULO has performed and created with various ensembles and bands, ranging from avant-garde to folk to amplified feminist domestic craft. Though she does utilize instrumentation in her songwriting, she prefers to bask solely in the voice as embodied instrument. She approaches song from a spiritual space, conjuring melodies and words in meditative states to invoke unfiltered expression and primal delight.

SKYLER SCHOLL is a DJ, turned drummer, turned songwriter, possibly known for being in a band who spent the last five years playing in State College, called The Roof. If he could bridge the sonic gap between Neil Young, Mac Miller, Tyler Childers, and Tom Petty, with conviction, he could die a happy man. Songs of redemption are his main topic of interest.

DANIEL COLLINS is an award winning musician who grew up in State College, and can be seen performing with local acts around town such as Lowjack, Caledonia, and Raven and the Wren. He primarily plays fiddle and guitar and is influenced by classical, Irish, and rock and roll music.
